Tequila Night

The sun was in his eyes as he woke up and he was startled by the surroundings in which he awoke. He had never seen this room before, and was in a haze about where he was and what had happened last night.

He slowly got out of the bed and looked around, it looked like he was in somebody’s living room. He walked around and saw a kitchen which was empty and a bedroom which was empty as well. The inhabitants of this house were clearly not at home.

He went to the kitchen and got a bottle of cold water from the fridge. He gulped half of it and felt refreshed. He went back to the living room and sat on the sofa and tried to piece together what had happened last night.

He had been invited to a birthday party in the loft of a recording studio. He remembered that there was lots of whiskey followed by lots of tequila interspersed with a few joints. He had to stop living like this and rethink at what cost was he trying to regain his youth after his divorce. If things continued like this, not much of it was going to be left.

He remembered slamming his head on a low beam in the loft and had been quite dazed by it. Oh yes, he could feel something and he felt his head and surprisingly there was no bump on his head.

He remembered that there had been two girls, lesbians maybe, whom he was trying to get friendly with. They were joined at the hip and took no notice of him. Definitely lesbians, he thought.

And then there was the life of the party, JJ, who was there with his guitar and had sung all through the night. That was the good part of the evening. Ah yes, there was Chinese food and delicious chicken wings. He was glad to be back to being a carnivore.

He had spent a year and a half supplicating a higher power to restore the balance to his marriage and during their separation he had given up smoking, drinking, non vegetarian food and of course he did not get any sex, but that was just an unlucky bonus.

The divorce was a good thing. He was back to enjoying the things he liked most, and was feeling happy; as happy as a dog with a boner.

But he still did not know where he was and how he got there. He saw his car keys on the dining table and said Nooo! “I certainly did not drive last night” he said aloud. “Could not have.”

He searched his memory a little more and there was a fleeting memory of him being held by two people while he threw up over a gutter. Now it was starting to make sense. He remembered not being able to stand straight on his own and was led to his car and put in the back seat.

Just then the door opened and the  two girls from the party walked in. He looked at them and laughed, “What the hell happened last night?”.

“Nothing much” said one of the girls. We wanted to have a threesome with you and you drank too much tequila in the car in your excitement and that when we got here to our place you were wasted and could not perform.”

“Damn the tequila” he said and started laughing.
